This is an antique embossed die cut featuring a likeness of Frances Cleveland, First Lady of the United States and wife to President Grover Cleveland. It was probably issued as a political campaign promotion, but Im not sure. Grover Cleveland served as President from 1885 until 1889 and then again from 1893 until 1897, so this would date to the 1880s or 1890s. It measures 3 1/2 wide by 2 high and is in very good condition except for a tiny edge piece being folded to the front and maybe one folded to the back, but Im not sure about that. Also, there looks like there is a crease at the back, but this is not visible from the front. Really, its remarkable that this endured in such great shape over the last 130 or so years. Nice American political collectible, wonderful with the doves, the eagle the flowers and the American flag, all in vibrant colours.
