This is a vintage dress hand made under the “Hand Made in Mexico by Nelly” label of Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. “Nelly” was Nelly Galvan Duque, a lady who opened a boutique in Puerto Vallarta in 1958 and then started a small cottage industry, employing local seamstresses to make clothing. The dress is made of striped cotton in tones of blue, navy blue and silver with intermittent blue satin stripes. The dress is cut in a loose fitting mid calf length with a shirt type collar, open neckline and elbow length sleeves with turned cuffs - you can turn down the cuff to get a bit more length if desired. There are box pleats across the bodice. There is a pocket built into either side. The dress in unlined and has no closures, so simply fits over the head.
