This is an antique rectangular shaped dessert dish made by G.M. & C.J. Mason in the Imari pattern. The pattern features stylized flowers in the Japanese manner. The porcelain has raised detail at either end and the dish has a bowl-like form - the scalloped edge and raised detail makes this bowl a rare form to find. The impressed Masons Patented Ironstone China was used circa 1813 - this dish is about 210 years old.

This dish measures 10 3/4 by 7 3/8 with a height of 2 at the ends. It is in very good condition with the exception of a shallow chip on the underside of one corner (see last close-up photo). In addition there are a couple of firing stilt mark or inclusions, original to the manufacture of thee piece and very minor. Otherwise, this looks to have been very well kept over the last 210 years.

Wonderful shape, this is a beautiful display piece for a Georgian period home!
