Antique Vanity Fair Chromolitho Print Captain John Bastard Horse Man 1880

This is a wonderful chromolitho print issued by Vanity Fair in 1880, original, not a reproduction - it is accompanied by a separate text page that describes the subject of the caricature. Vanity Fair magazine published coloured caricatures of famous figures in British society from 1869 until 1914. The caricatures were primarily by artists Spy and Ape but also by others. This one is of Captain John Bastard, an accomplished horseman (see description). The print measures 10 1/4 by 15 while the image area measures 7 1/4 by 12 1/4. It is in very good condition with only a minor corner crease. The print will be delivered rolled in a box - should you require it flat, please let me know, but delivery uncharges may be necessary.
