This is a Beswick Ware vase made in an art deco form, most likely designed during the 1930s by Mr. Symcox. Symcox worked for Beswick between 1933 and 1942 and was a freelance sculptor who exhibited at the 1934 British Industry Fair. The vase is glazed in a beige colour in the upper area with drips of blue, yellow, green and red blended together around the bulbous base of the vase. The top of the vase is pinched so as to form a slight hourglass shape. The exterior of the vase is finished in circular ribbing. The base is impressed with the model number 504 and stamped with Beswick Ware Made in England. The piece measures 7 1/8 in height and 5 3/4 by 3 1/2 across its top opening. It is in very good condition with no chips, cracks or wear - this has been very well preserved. This is a hard to find shape - fabulous decorative accent for an art deco or modern decor!
