Art Deco Tooled Leather Purse Shoulder Bag Monogrammed RFN - VFG

This is a wonderful art deco era, 1930s or early 40s, tooled leather purse made in a shoulder bag style. The purse is tooled with leaves on the front and leaves and bellflowers on the back - the front is monogrammed RFN. The purse closes with a scalloped flap that is secured with two snaps. All of the edges are braided with leather roping and the interior has a mottle patterned leather lining. It has a leather shoulder strap and the interior has a side pocket, a zippered pocket and two slot built onto the zippered pocket. The zipper has a braided leather pull affixed to it and there is a coin purse affixed to the side of the interior by a piece of braided leather. The purse measures 11 in width and 2 3/4 in depth across the bottom, by 7 in height exclusive of its strap - the strap has a drop of 18. The purse is in very good condition, but definitely has seen use with some distress to the leather, mostly to the top flap - with a bit of leather treatment by a specialist, this should look great. This is a beautifully tooled leather purse - great if your initials are (or not) RFN!
