Mid Century Modern Lamp Volcanic Glaze Ceramic Made in Italy c 1950s

This is a striking lamp featuring a textured volcanic glaze pottery body with wood base. The glaze is amazing, applied in an abstract design with earthy tones of brown, grey and black and with pops of vibrant colours of red, yellow and pink. The underside is etched “060 Italy - possibly a Raymor import, but I cant say for sure. It has its original wiring and it is in good working condition and is also aesthetically very good with no noted wear, chips, cracks or other defect. There is a hole drilled near the bottom where the wire would exit, but the addition of the wood base that has an exit hole made that hole unnecessary. There is no harp nor is there a shade, so you would have to supply those. It measures 20 3/4 in height to the top of the socket and weighs 4 lbs and 7 oz. Wonderful Italian mid-century lamp - great glaze!
