Vintage 1920s Telephone Valentine Standing Card
$35.00
Brand Poppy's Vintage Clothing
This is a wonderful old standing Valentine Card featuring a girl sitting at a desk and speaking on a candlestick telephone. The earpiece is “attached” to the phone with a piece of string. The card stands with the help of an easel at the back - the girl’s eyes are printed on the easel stand, so are recessed and can be positioned differently in her eye sockets.
The card reads “Hello! Don’t Forget I Have a Heart For You My Valentine”.
The card is addressed on the back “To Bruce”, “From Charles Sweeney”. From the manner of her dress and the general appearance of the card, I would say that it dates to the 1920s, and maybe even a little earlier. The card is in very good condition - some “play” to the easel, but this is minor. The card measures 6 1/2” high by 5 1/4” wide at its base.
This is a desirable card that should appeal to telephone collectors or Valentine Card collectors!
