Vintage 1950s ANRI Virgin Mary Wood Carving Lady of All Prayers Figural Sculpture

This is a wonderful hand carved wood figure that, although unmarked, was made in Italy, most likely by ANRI, in the form of the Virgin Mary. She looks very much like the Lady of All Prayers that is shown in my ANRI catalogue, except that the figure in the catalogue to slimmer at the bottom. These figures are hand carved, so Im sure that there were always small differences from one figure to another. Her face is typical of ANRI and she is nicely painted. The figure measures 10 3/4 in height. It is in very good condition with the exception of some scratch-like paint loss on her white robe, a few tiny scratches to the blue robe at the back, some tiny spots on the paint that I haven't tried to clean off, and a bit of marking to the base, all quite minor - this displays very well. In addition, there was some red felt glued to the interior underside of the base that I tried to remove, but couldnt totally remove (see photo). This is skillfully carved- a beautiful representation of the Virgin Mary!
