Vintage 1960s Charles Jourdan Leather & Chrome Handbag Purse
$65.00
Brand Etsy
From the 60s here is wonderful handbag...reminds me of a 30s pocketbook in style...so sleek and slender with that touch of chrome finish around it. The patent leather has a subtle crinkle pattern. The leather on the inside flap is very soft. There is a different leather used for the interior.
It has one zippered pocket & one other pocket. The metal label inside reads Charles Jourdan - Paris - followed by Greek writing.
Color is a brownish burgundy...much like the Pantone color of the year which is Marsala.
There are a couple of markings to the leather and on the upper right hand corner of the interior the leather has come away a little from the chrome, that should be an easy fix for a shoemaker. The strap does feel somewhat dry. Although it appears this bag could be opened from other side, it cannot, only one side snaps shut.
Measurements are 9 1/2 inches by 6 inches x 4 inches deep when opened.
Strap can be changed to a shoulder strap. Regular strap measures 9 inches converted it is 15 inches.
A very nice example of the fine workmanship from Jourdan in the 60s.
