This is a wonderful example of an enamel pin dish made by Quebec artisans Micheline de Passille and Yves Sylvestre. The underside of the dish is signed de Passillé-Sylvestre Ste Adele P.Q. in gold. Michelle de Passille and Yves Sylvestre started their career by producing enamel jewelry in 1960 and were skilled enamelists.
This dish features a representation of a flower in red, black and two tones of green. It measures 5 3/4 in diameter across its top and has a bowl shape, measuring 3/4 in height at the edge. It is in very good condition with no noted defect, except that one of the cork pieces on the underside is missing, easily replaced if desired.
Quebec produced some very good enamel artisans during the 60s and 70s, with de Passille and Sylvestre considered amongst the best.....this is a wonderful enamelled pin dish - clean design, lovely in its simplicity!
