Vintage 1960s Ski Mont Ste Agathe Enamel Brooch Pin Quebec Skiing

This is a wonderful enamel brooch or pin made for the ski hill of Mont Ste Agathe. Mont Ste Agathe was opened in 1953 as Mont Kingston and was renamed Mont Ste Agathe in 1960 when the hill was bought by the company Dveloppement Ste-Agathe-sur-le-Lac Inc. it closed during the mid-1970s and re-opened in 1985 only to close permanently in 1987. Of course, Ste Agathe is considered to be the cradle of downhill skiing in Canada, perhaps even North America, with a history dating back to 1904, when the Montreal Ski Club established its headquarters there. This pin features wonderful design with a stick figure skier in red with a raised enamel black head set against a green background that has white spots throughout, I would assume to represent snow. Mont Ste Agathe is written in gold below the stick figure - a little worn, but still legible. The brooch measures 1 3/4 wide by 1 1/4 high. It is in very good condition with no chipping, cracking or crazing. It is unsigned, but I wonder if it might not be the work of Micheline de Passille and Yves Sylvestre, who were enamel artists living nearby in St Adele.
This is a rare pin that is a wonderful Quebec ski collectible as well as featuring a fun graphic representation of a skier in a quality enamel on copper!
