This is a lovely vintage brooch and earrings demi-parure - the clips on the earrings are signed Continental, but the brooch is unsigned.
Continental Jewellery was founded in 1943 and was based in Montreal. They were the principal competition to Sherman, which was also based in Montreal. Although they were more modestly priced compared to Sherman, their quality was still excellent, although, in general, their pieces contained fewer stones. Because of their competitive pricing, they grew to be the largest Canadian suppliers of rhinestone jewelry during the 1950s.
This set dates most likely to the early 60s. It is made with peach toned satin finished cabochons, round and navette shaped, with a few aurora borealis rhinestones. The brooch measures 3” in height while the earrings measure 1 1/8‘ in height. The set is in very good condition with no noted wear.
This is a nice quality set...very pretty color and finish, sure to be noticed!
