Vintage Nancy Drew Book The Clue in the Old Album 1st Edition 1st Printing

This is a vintage Nancy Drew book titled The Clue in the Old Album published by Grosset & Dunlap in 1947. The book was written by Mildred Wirt Benson under the pseudonym Carolyn Keene. This was the 24th book in the Nancy Drew series and this example is a first edition, first printing. It has a blue cloth hardcover printed with dark blue silhouette to the right, black silhouette endpapers and a plain paper frontispiece. The DJ has the Cherry Ames ad back, Judy Bolton on the back flap and Nancy Drew ad on the front flap. It is in good condition - the book itself is very clean inside with no pronounced page defects, but the spine of the cover is worn along some edges. The front endpaper is signed in ink by the original owner. The dustcover, however, has edge tearing and creasing and moisture staining to the spine mostly visible on the interior, otherwise, I would have graded the book as very good. Please note that due to scarcity of materials during the war, even in early 1947, the quality of the paper was thinner and inferior, so has taken on a patina. Still, this is not a common book - great addition to a Nancy Drew collection!
