Vintage Paragon Bone China Cup & Saucer Roses on Gold A1584 Double Warrant

This is a lovely cup and saucer set made by Paragon of England in a rose decorated pattern. The cup is decorated on the exterior with white roses tinted with yellow and pink and with green leaves against a heavy gold gilt background. The saucer is similarly decorated with a beige centre. The interior of the cup is white and the bottom exterior is white with the top edge, the foot and handle also trimmed in gold paint. The Paragon mark on the underside of each piece is double warranted, so most likely early 1950s. The saucer is hand inscribed with the pattern number A1542. The set is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or wear - both pieces ping nicely when tapped. The saucer measures 5 in diameter while the cup measures 2 3/4 in height with a top diameter of 3 1/4. This is a lovely cabinet display cup and saucer with a striking rose pattern on gold gilt - wonderful addition to a collection!
