Vintage Shelley Bone China Cup & Saucer Heather Pattern 0187

This is a cup and saucer made by Shelley China in their Heather pattern 0187. Both the cup and saucer are decorated with an impressionistic rendering of a country scene, quite lovely. The saucer measures 5 1/2 in diameter and the cup has a height of 2 1/2 with a top diameter of 3 3/8. The set is in very good condition with no chips, cracks or wear except for a few white lines in the pattern on the cup, original to when the base transfer was applied by the factory. The gold trim is all intact. The underside of each is stamped with the Shelley shield mark that was used between 1945 and 1966 and the cup is hand inscribed with the pattern number 0187. The British registry mark of 823343 on the underside of the cup dates the pattern design to 1937. Nice addition to a Shelley cup collection.....
