1970s Vintage Velvet Boho Dress Hippie Chic Black and Blue M

This is a wonderful 1970s vintage velvet boho dress made with a combination of black and paisley printed blue velvet fabrics. This vintage velvet boho dress takes design influence from traditional Afghani dresses that was very popular with young people/hippies during the late 60s and early 70s.  The dress has a deep V neckline and bodice that is trimmed and covered in paisley printed blue velvet.  The sleeves are cut very wide and full and have stitched blue velvet cuffs in the same print as the bodice.  The skirt is gathered in tucks underneath the bodice, which gives the skirt fullness so that it falls in drapes.  The centre of the skirt has a blue velvet panel - the back is similarly constructed.  There is a pocket built into either side and the dress is unlined. This vintage velvet boho dress has no closures so the dress simply fits over the head.

 Label: None, but I have another very similar vintage velvet boho dress in different fabrics from the same estate that has a label in it that reads “Paris Workshop Piece Unique” - I’m sure that this was from the same maker.  

Sizing:  No size is indicated this vintage velvet boho dress, and although it should fit a medium size, please note the following measurements for fit, keeping the style of the dress in mind, which has to slip on over the head:

Shoulders:  13 1/2” across seams

Sleeves:  25” long from the shoulder seam to the end of the cuff - 31 3/4” from the mid-neck to the cuff

Sleeve inseam:  24 1/2”

Bust: 40” taken at the under arm (where the sleeve meets the side) 

Waistline: 46” or more around, meant to fall loosely

Hips:  Full, meant to fall in drapes

Overall length: 43", measured flat from the neck to the hemline

Condition:  This vintage velvet boho dress is in very clean condition with no signs of wear, soiling, staining or odour.
