Brand Poppy's Vintage Clothing

This is an exceptional vintage Brioni suit made for Brisson & Brisson of Montreal.  Brioni, of course, is one of the most expensive tailors in the world, each garment hand made and sewn by expert workmen.  Brioni is known for making the most expensive off-the-rack suits in the world, each starting at $5000, with custom tailored suits selling for $15,000.  The jacket to this vintage Brioni suit is made with medium width notched lapels and a three button front.  There is a flapped pocket at either side and a pocket at the left chest.  The sleeves have three button cuffs and there is double vent at the back.  It is fully lined in Brioni signature woven “cupro” (rayon).  The pants to this vintage Brioni suit have a flat panel front.

Age: tailor’s label dates the suit to 1996

Label: Tailored in Italy by Brioni Expressly For Brisson & Brisson Montreal Canada.  Brioni was founded in 1945, and during the 50s was discovered by American actors Clark Gable and Cary Grant while working at the Cinecitta Studios in Rome.  Brisson & Brisson was an exclusive men’s clothing boutique located in Montreal that closed some 20 years ago.  It was favoured by the Canadian business and political elite and Prime Minister Pierre Elliot Trudeau was a regular customer there. Anything that you bought at Brisson & Brisson was of exceptional quality.

Condition: This vintage Brioni suit is in very good condition with no wear, tear or odour - the exterior is free of stains but there is a bit of discolouration to the lining at the armpits, more so to the right armpit (see last close-up photo).  Most of it was captured by the armpit shields - a cleaner may be able to eliminate this, but a tailor could also replace it.  Otherwise, this vintage Brioni suit presents itself very well.

This is a quality vintage Brioni suit - attractive style, excellent tailoring!
