Unused 1970 Vintage Cavalry Twill Wool Coat Overcoat Sz 38

$175.00

Brand Poppy's Vintage Clothing

This is a quality vintage cavalry twill wool coat that dates to just around 1970.  Cavalry twill is a worsted wool with distinctive diagonal double linear weave originally used for cavalry trousers due to its hardwearing quality.  It is similar to wool gabardine but less shiny, so in that respect, more desirable.   This vintage cavalry twill wool coat has a military style collar and lapel and is made in a six button double breasted configuration - there is an additional hook and eye at the neck should you wish to wear the coat with the neckline closed.  It has a slant flapped pocket at either side.  The cuffs of the sleeves each have a single button and there is a 17” kick vent at the back.  The interior in lined in copper toned rayon satin.  The coat is made in a shorter length length, typical of late 60s mens fashion.  This vintage cavalry twill wool coat appears to be unused as the cuff tag is still affixed and the kick vent is sewn shut.
