Vintage 1970s Paganne Maxi Dress by Gene Berk Psych Print M
$195.00
Brand Poppy's Vintage Clothing
This is a late 1960s / early 1970s vintage Paganne maxi dress made by Gene Berk. This vintage Paganne maxi dress features a psych influenced pattern, similar to patterns popularized by Emilio Pucci during that time. The pattern features swathes of colour in cloud shapes and stripes, somewhat reminiscent of Peter Max in the fluid pop art appearance of the design. It is in contrasting colour tones of coral, blue and sienna against the darker brown and tan colours. This vintage Paganne maxi dress is made with a rounded scoop neckline, long sleeves and does up the back with a nylon zipper. It has three buttons down the centre of the bodice. There is a 20" slit at the bottom left side and the dress is unlined.
Label: Paganne Ltd Gene Berk. Gene Berk started his company in 1965 after a career in menswear merchandising and working for Oleg Cassini. He sketched many of his own designs, but obviously drew inspiration from Pucci.
Fabric: Unmarked, but a nylon jersey so there is some stretch “give” to the fabric
