This is a very nice quality vintage 1970s wool cape coat designed by Marielle Fleury for Rainmaster - Fleury is considered to have been one of the most influential Quebec designers and her designs are becoming quite sought after.  The wool is of a heavier weight and is fully lined in black quilted fabric.  This vintage 1970s wool cape coat does up with four large plastic buttons and has two openings to allow the arms to emerge from under the cape - there is an over flap that comes around to cover the arms (see photos).   It was a fairly wide pointy collar.  There is a vertical pocket at either side of the body of this vintage 1970s wool cape coat.

Label: Rainmaster by Marielle Fleury Made in Canada.  Rainmaster was a trademark of Sport Togs, which hired Fleury in 1969 to design a line under her own name.

Union label:  ILGWU, International Ladies Garment Workers Union, used between 1968 and 1984

Sizing: The size label is cut, and although this vintage 1970s wool cape coat should fit a medium size, but please note the following measurements for fit:

Shoulders:  16” across, shoulder seam to shoulder seam

Length:  40” at the side from the shoulder seam

Bust:  42” around, taken under the arms

Waist:  46” around

Hemline, including over cape:  122”

Length at back:  42 1/2” from the neck seam

Condition:  This vintage 1970s wool cape coat is in very good condition with no pronounced wear, tear, staining, soiling or odour.  It would benefit from a dry cleaning, but is certainly ready to wear

This is a very stylish vintage 1970s wool cape coat….nice thick wool that will provide warmth on a blustery fall day or night!
