This is a vintage 1970s wrap coat made in Canada of a striking purple toned wool. This vintage 1970s wrap coat is made with a V shaped neckline, oversized wing shaped collar and lapels, long sleeves and with a large patch pocket built onto the right side only. The coat is cut with a flare to its hemline and closes only with a matching sash belt, as is typical for a wrap coat. It is fully lined in violet satin acetate that is interlined for extra warmth.
Fabric label: no label, but definitely wool with a raised nappe or brushed finish (see close-up photo)
Maker’s label: None, but manufactured.
Union label: The Canadian ILGWU label used between 1968 and 1984
Sizing: There is no size label and although this vintage 1970s wrap coat should fit a medium size, please note the following measurements for fit:
Shoulders: 17” across between shoulder/sleeve seams
Sleeves: 23” long from the shoulder seam
Sleeve Inseam: 16 1/2”
Bust: 42” around, taken under the arms
Waist: 38”. meant to be cinched with the belt
Hips: 48”
Hemline: 76” around
Overall length: 43”, taken at the back from the neck seam
Condition: This vintage 1970s wrap coat is in very good condition with no pronounced wear, tear, soiling, staining or odour to the exterior but there is discolouration to the lining at the arm openings (see last close-up photo).
