This is a 100% pure cashmere pullover sweater made in Scotland - any other labels are missing, but I’ve had some other Scottish cashmere sweaters by Ballantyne that additionally had this label in them. It dates to the 1960s and is knit with a raised butterfly and quarter moon pattern in white against a solid red background colour. The sweater has long sleeves and a high set rounded “jewel” neckline, but no buttons, so probably was part of a twin set or simply meant to be a cardigan worn open. It is unlined and the opening edge is ribbed. The cashmere is soft and of excellent quality.
