Vintage 1930s Black Velvet Dress - Rhinestones - Leg of mutton Sleeves

This is a gorgeous 1930s dress made of black velvet with studded rhinestones at the center front. The velvet is really of a beautiful quality, I believe that it is silk velvet. The dress has a “leg of mutton” sleeves and the bodice does up with a zipper. There are four vertical rows of rhinestones to either side of the zipper that round the neck, punctuated with ten green rhinestones in a square form. It has “mutton” type sleeves and the dress is cut with a high set defined waist and full length skirt that falls straight to the bottom. The dress has an attached decorative "pouf" at the back posterior. The dress is unlined and does up at the side with a series of snaps. Please note that the dress is pure black but has been lightened in my photos in order to see the detail in the dress.

Sizing: No size is indicated, and although this should fit a medium size, please note the following measurements for fit, taking into account the style of the dress:

Shoulders: 15” wide, from shoulder/sleeve seam to shoulder/sleeve seam

Sleeves: 24” long from the shoulder/sleeve seam

Sleeve inseam: 17”

Bust: 38” around, taken at the underarms

Waist: 30” around

Hips: 36” around

Length: 57”, measured flat

Condition:

This dress is in very good condition with the exception of a small hole/tear, about 3/8” in length to the right side of the skirt, about halfway down from the waist, and about 3 pinhead sized holes above that. This is not really noticeable unless viewing the fabric with a light behind it but should probably be patch re-inforced to avoid further damage from happening .

This is an excellent quality 30s era dress, very elegant and sophisticated....
