This is a wonderful vintage 1960s Oleg Cassini dress made in a cocktail style. This vintage 1960s Oleg Cassini dress has a high waist with lace bodice, accented with a peacock blue grosgrain ribbon behind it. The waist area is tucked with seams that give the dress a form fitting silhouette. The dress has cap sleeves and is held up with two spaghetti straps under the lace. It has a low back and is decorated with a blue bow at the back below the open area. This vintage 1960s Oleg Cassini dress is lined in black rayon fabric and does up the back with a nylon zipper.

Maker label: Oleg Cassini. Cassini was quite the intriguing character. He was the son of a diplomat and was a well known Hollywood Lothario. He started his career as a sketch designer for Hollywood wardrobe departments. He met and married Gene Tierney in 1941, designing her wardrobe for the films that she appeared in. After the marriage faltered, he had relationships with many of Hollywood’s top actresses, including Grace Kelly, Marilyn Monroe and Anita Ekberg. He is best known for shaping Jackie Kennedy’s look while she was First Lady.
