This is vintage 1950s leather bomber jacket made in Canada by the British Mfg Co of Montreal - British Mfg was also the maker of the sought after Brimaco café racer jackets. This vintage 1950s leather bomber jacket is made of a fairly thick, very good quality black leather that is lined in faux sheep fleece or shearling. It has two side pockets and a wide faux shearling collar - the pockets, cuffs and bottom are also trimmed in faux shearling. There is a buckled belt at either bottom side, used to cinch the jacket. This vintage 1950s leather bomber jacket does up with a metal zipper.
Label: Wind Cheater Another British Feature A Product of British Mfg. Co. Montreal, Canada
Sizing: No size is indicated, and although this vintage 1950s leather bomber jacket should fit a small size, please rely on the following measurements for fit, taking the thickness of the leather into account:
Shoulders: 16 1/2” across from shoulder seam to shoulder seam
Sleeves: 25” long from the shoulder seam
Sleeve Inseam: 17 1/2” long, including the extended shearling wool cuff
Chest: 42” around
Bottom: 36” around
Overall length: 26”, measured flat
Condition: This vintage 1950s leather bomber jacket is in very good condition, especially considering its age and the type of jacket that this is. Leather jackets of this age are usually worn, but this looks to have seen very little use and to have been well stored. The only issues are light soiling to the faux shearling, nothing pronounced, and one of the side belts is semi-detached (see last close-up photo) - a shoe repair or leather repair shop can easily sew this. Otherwise, there is minor creasing and practically no wear to the leather. This is really a nice example of.a vintage 1950s leather bomber jacket.
This is a well constructed jacket made of quality leather, as you would expect from a vintage 1950s leather bomber jacket - great acquisition if it fits!
