This is a pair of 1980s vintage Laurel culottes, aka a “split skirt”, made in a plaid wool.  The wool is in fall colours of orange, gold, green, brown and heather.  The Laurel line was a mid-priced line introduced by Escada in 1980.  These vintage Laurel culottes have tucks under the waist so that the full cut legs fall in drapes.  It closes with a button at the side waist.  The skirt is lined in green acetate.

Label:  Laurel® Made in W. Germany

Fabric label: Pure new wool

Sizing: German size 40 is indicated, which is equivalent to a US size 10. Please rely on the following measurements for fit, taking the style of the culottes into account:

Waist:  28” around

Hips:  50” around, meant to fall loosely

Overall length: 31", measured flat

Condition: These vintage Laurel culottes are in very good condition with no pronounced wear, tear, stains or odour.
