This is an early letter from the Massey-Harris Co. Limited dated February the 4th, 1908. The letter is addressed to a Mr M.B. Cosby of Smithville, Ontario. It reads:
Dear Sir,
I am programming Mr Wm Powers to be with you on Wed & Thursday Feb 12 & 13 as I only expect him to be on the territory the one week. I am ? for two full days out of the middle. Now Mark you always wanted this man and I succeeded in getting him and as he is counted as one of the best Salesman in Canada. I am satisfied you will tale a big number of orders with him. I am anxious to see you have a big years business and that ? you ? have a big delivery on the 18th. I think Mr Verity of the Verity Plow Co will call on you during the week, wishing you success, I remain Yours truly R Armitage.
The piece measures 8 1/2 by 11 and is in very good condition, especially considering the age and type of document that it is. Quite amazing how business people would personally handwrite communication to customers back then. Nice piece of farming history.....
