Antique Torquay Pottery Kingfisher Vase Watcombe

This is an antique Torquay pottery vase featuring a hand painted image of a Kingfisher bird in its habitat. Kingfisher birds are natural to the Torquay area and were used by all of the local potteries. The underside is hand etched 374 - the absence of any other mark makes me think that this is an earlier piece, pre-1891, when Made in England was mandated as a mark. My feeling is that this is most likely Watcombe pottery. The vase measures 8 in height and 3 3/8 in diameter - it is fairly heavy for its size, weighing 1 lb and 5 oz. It is in very good condition with no chips, cracks, crazing or noted wear - this has been very well preserved.
This is a lovely display vase - I havent been able to find a similar shape in this type of vase, so a nice acquisition for a collection.
