Antique Victorian Combing Jacket Blouse White Cotton Size M
$135.00
Brand Poppy's Vintage Clothing
This is a lovely Victorian combing jacket that could be used as a blouse. This Victorian combing jacket features lovely floral form embroidery and is made of white cotton with fine detailing including faggotting, tucking and eyeletting. This is a nice example of a Victorian combing jacket because of its size - most of these are quite tiny, whereas this one should fit a medium size. The piece has a rounded collar and does up with five buttonholes, the bottom four hidden by a flap. The top shell button is present and does up the neck, but two of the four covered buttons are missing - because the buttons are hidden, you could replace the missing buttons with any plain button. The Victorian combing jacket is seamed and shaped in such a way so as to accentuate the waist and the sleeve flares out to the cuff which has a slanted edge. The bottom edge, cuffs, collar and front are all embroidered with the flower motif.
