This is a bowl made by Royal Copenhagen of Denmark as part of the Tenera series. The Tenera shapes were designed by Nils Thorsson while Artistic Director of Royal Copenhagen / Aluminia, circa 1958. Subsequently, the individual designers working under him designed the various decorative designs and motifs. This one was designed by Marianne Johnson - the underside is signed with Johnsons initials MJ. The underside of the bowl is marked with the Royal Copenhagen crown mark along with three blue waves, the pattern number 151, the shape number 2196 and the artists initials of mp. The bar under the letter G in Copenhagen dates the manufacture of the piece to between 1969 and 1974. The bowl measures 4 1/4 in diameter with a height of 2 1/4. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or wear. This is a lovely quality piece of Royal Copenhagen porcelain - nice example of mid-century design!
