This is an unused vintage early 60s or late 1950s mens shirt made of “Decton Satiste” fabric, which is a blend of 65% Dacron polyester and 35% cotton. This 1950s mens shirt has a loop collar, five button front, a chest pocket at either side, and long sleeves with single button barrel cuffs.
Label: Arouw Decton Perma Iron Satiste Sanforized Plus 2 65% Dacron Polyester 35% Cotton. This appears to be an attempt to imitate the brand “Arrow” and their “Decton Batiste” line (see last photo of Life magazine 1960 ad for an Arrow Decton shirt).
Pattern: Plaid in gold, blue, green and black
Sizing: Size A is indicated on the label, and “Middle” on another label - although this 1950s mens shirt should fit a medium size, please rely on the following measurements for fit:
Neck: 15 1/2”
Shoulders: 17” across from seam to seam
Sleeves: 22 1/2” from the shoulder seam
Sleeve inseam: 19”
Chest: 40” around
Length: 28 1/2”
Condition: This 1950s mens shirt is in like new condition, very clean and crisp, definitely unused and well kept over the years.
This is an interesting 1950s mens shirt - definitely authentically old, but a knockoff of an established brand - still, nice 50s era quality!
