Vintage 1920s Devon Tors Pottery Kingfisher Jug Torquay

This is a vintage Devon Tors pottery jug featuring a hand painted raised image of a Kingfisher bird in its habitat. It is difficult to tell from the photos but the jug tapers to the top. Kingfisher birds are natural to the Torquay area and were used by all of the local potteries. Devon Tors was founded in 1921 and closed its doors in 1968 - I believe that this jug probably dates to the 1920s. The jug measures 5 in height and 3 5/8 in diameter across its bottom with a top diameter of 3". It is in very good condition with no chips, cracks, or noted wear except for surface glaze crazing to the blue background - minor damage, this has been very well preserved.
This is a lovely display jug - nice acquisition for a Torquay collection.
