Vintage 1930s Black Silk Chiffon Nightie See Through Nightgown Size Large

This is a sexy vintage nightie / nightgown made of lovely quality black silk chiffon, in a style that you could maybe wear this as a dress today, with a proper slip underneath as it is quite see-through.  It has cap sleeves with ruffled edge, a scoop neckline with faggoted detail below the edge and an inverted V waistline.  There is a blue satin braid decoration at either shoulder.  There are loops for a belt, and I would assume that the original belt matched the shoulder braids, but the belt is missing, not serious, as I can’t picture this piece being belted.  The bottom of the piece also has a ruffled edge and an uneven length, longer on the right side than the left.

Sizing: There is no size label, but this should fit a large size - please rely on the following measurements for fit, taking the style of the garment into account, which simply fits over the head:

Bust: 42” around, approximate, as this is meant to fit loosely

Waist: 34”” around

Hips: 42” around, but due to the slight stretch of the material, it might accommodate more

Length: 52”, measured flat

Condition: It is in very good condition with no pronounced wear, tear, pulls, odours, soiling or stains - one of the loops for the belt is detached at the top.  Please ignore any white areas in the photos as these are lighting reflections on the white mannequin.  This has been well kept over the last 85 or so years. 

This is an alluring nightie - rare to see black lingerie of this era!
