Vintage 1930s Ladies Coat Black Wool Beaded Evening Wear S

This is a wonderful vintage late 1930s ladies coat meant for evening wear.  This 1930s ladies coat has squared and padded shoulders with a slight puff to the upper sleeve.  It has a jewel neckline with a rounded collar and is made in a full length.  The coat has a defined waist and does up with five covered buttons down the upper front.  The skirt of the coat is cut so as to flare out so that it falls in drapes.  The sleeves are cut wide at the upper and taper to the cuff.  The coat is fully lined in yellow taffeta.  The upper sleeves and sides of the waist are beautiful decorated with cut steel beads and brass coloured melon shaped beads.

Sizing: No size is indicated on this 1930s ladies coat, as it is custom made, and although this should fit a small, please note the following measurements, taking the thickness of the wool into account:

Shoulders: 16” across seam-to-seam

Sleeves: 25” from the shoulder seam

Bust: 36” around, 18” pit-to-pit

Waist: 34” around

Hips:  40” around 

Hemline:  104” around

Overall length: 54” measured flat at the back from the neck seam

Condition: This 1930s ladies coat is in very good condition with no pronounced wear, tear, stains or odours - this 1930s ladies coat looks like it saw very little use, and was well cared for and stored over the years.

This is a beautifully tailored 1930s ladies coat - original 30s fashion is getting hard to find!
