Vintage 1930s Wool Coat by Langburne Canada Ladies Size L

$325.00

Brand Poppy's Vintage Clothing

This is a beautiful vintage 1930s wool coat made in Canada under the Langburne label.  This vintage 1930s wool coat has padded raglan style shoulders, a straight silhouette, shawl lapels and a single large button closure. It has a rounded patch pocket applied to either side, each with a decorative top panel.  The lapels and pocket panels are edged in stitching.  The coat is fully lined in black satin. Please note that this vintage 1930s wool coat was to large for my mannequin

Age: 1930s

Label: Langburne with a coat-of-arms and a Maple Leaf logo that has the company name contained in it.  It appears to read “PYL & Co”.  I haven’t been able to find anything out about this manufacturer, but did find some newspaper ads dating between 1936 and 1953 for Langburne coats, all of them Canadian ads.

Color: Black

Material: Wool

Sizing: No size is indicated, but this vintage 1930s wool coat should fit a large size. Please rely on the following measurements for fit, taking the thickness of the fabric and the style of the coat into account:

Sleeves: 24” long, from shoulder pad

Sleeve inseam: 16”

Bust: 46” around

Hips:  46” around

Condition:  This vintage 1930s wool coat is in very good condition - there is a bit of discolouration to the lining at the shoulder area, but this is quite minor (see last close-up photo) and a small pull at the back left sleeve near the shoulder.  Otherwise, no pronounced wear or tear or staining.

This is a very nice example of a vintage 1930s wool coat- quality fabric, beautiful style….rare to find coats of this period!
