Vintage 1950s Skirt Suit Flecked Linear Pattern Size Medium

This is a vintage 1950s skirt suit featuring padded shoulders, matching fabric covered buttons, pockets at either side with matching button and curved edge, turned cuffs on the sleeves and a mid-calf length skirt with a small kick pleat at the bottom back.  The jacket to this vintage 1950s skirt suit has high set notched lapels and is accent tapered at the waist - it was large for my mannequin, so the accented waist isn’t obvious.  The jacket does up with five cloth covered matching buttons down the front.  The jacket is fully lined in grey acetate.  The skirt does up with a metal zipper at the side and is unlined.  The fabric used to make this vintage 1950s skirt suit is woven with a flecked linear design in tones of blue, white and grey against a black background - the overall impression is a muted blue tone of charcoal.

Sizing: No size is indicated and although this vintage 1950s skirt suit should fit a medium size,  please note the following measurements, taking the thickness of the wool into account:

Jacket:

Shoulders: 16” across seam-to-seam

Sleeves: 24” from shoulder seam

Sleeve Inseam: 16 1/2” long

Bust: 37 1/2” around, taken under the arms

Waist: 32”

Bottom:  38” around

Overall length: 25”

Skirt:

Waist: 29”

Hips: 40” around, approximate

Overall length: 28"

Condition:  This vintage 1950s skirt suit is in very good condition with no wear, tear, stains or odours.  The hem on the skirt is undone, so I’m not sure if this was ever used.  I’m leaving the hem as is so that you can finish it to a length suitable to you.  I assume that this vintage 1950s skirt suit was dry cleaned because it had been in storage - the dry cleaning tickets look to me to date to the 1950s. This suit was very well cared for and stored over the years.
