This is a wonderful compact made of blue suede over a gold toned metal base, dating to, I think, the early 1940s. The compact has a lot of compartments. On one side it has a snap down compartment for bills or cards built onto the lid. Under the lid is a cigarette compartment and a compartment for matches. The other side also opens up to reveal two lidded compartments, one for powder, the other maybe for make-up of some sort - the long compartment maybe meant to hold brushes, but I’m not sure. There is a round compartment at the top on one side that I think is meant to hold lipstick. The purse measures 3 3/8” by 5 5/8”, exclusive of its handle, which has a fall of 5 1/4” - it has a depth of 1 1/8”. It is in very good condition - the suede has a few marks, but these should clean up fine. There had been a mirror in the powder/makeup lid - there is a slider at the top that should secure the mirror in place.
This is a wonderful compact purse - lots of space, still very usable!
