This is a gorgeous 1950s vintage circle skirt made by the fashion house of Pierre Balmain. It is made of black velvet with rows of dusty rose velvet and silk ribbon around its circumference. The silk ribbon is woven with roses. The skirt is unlined, but the ribbon is backed with protective net mesh. It closes with a metal zipper at the side. The skirt was posed with a crinoline underneath it - the use of a crinoline gives the skirt a fuller look, as it would have been worn during the 50s.
Label: Boutique Pierre Balmain Paris
Sizing: No size is indicated, but the skirt should fit a medium size - please rely on the following measurements for fit:
Waist: 28” around
Hips: 46” around, but meant to fall loosely
Length: 30”
Condition: This skirt is in very good condition with no signs of wear, tear or staining. It looks to have seen little use and was well stored over the years, obviously a treasured piece.
This is a beautiful quality skirt by a renowned Paris fashion design house - one of the loveliest circle skirts that I’ve ever seen!
