This is a 100% pure cashmere pullover sweater most likely made in Scotland - the labels are missing, but this came from a lady who had a large collection of Scottish cashmere sweaters, all either by Pringle or Ballantyne. It dates to the 1960s and is embroidered over the front with leaves, I believe oak leaves, in two tones of blue and white against the navy blue solid background colour. The sweater has short sleeves and a high set rounded “jewel” neckline. It is unlined and the neckline, cuffs and bottom are ribbed. The sweater does up the upper back with a nylon zipper. The cashmere is light and ultra soft.
Label: Missing, but most likely Ballantyne or Pringle
Sizing: No size is indicated, and although the lady from whom this was acquired normally wore a medium size, please rely on the following measurements for fit:
Shoulders: 13” across, seam to seam
Sleeves: 8” from the shoulder seam
Bust: 38” around, taken under the arms
Bottom: 27” around, unstretched, stretches out to 36” max - it has a ribbed bottom
Overall length: 21”, measured flat
Condition: It is in very good condition with no pronounced wear, tear, holes or other defect. I have laundered the item, so it is ready to wear.
This is a lovely quality cashmere sweater featuring an attractive embroidered leaf pattern in pretty tones of blue!
