This is a wonderful coat made by the cutting edge fashion house of Courreges Paris. I believe that the coat dates to the late 70s - it has many of the design elements of an 80s coat, but Courreges was always ahead of its time. The coat has a high collar, large padded shoulders, dolman sleeves and is made in a mid-calf length. It is accented with blue cloth bands delineating the bodice from the upper sleeves, down the front opening, and horizontally around the body and sleeves of the coat. There is a pocket built into either side. The coat closes at the front with 10 chrome snaps. It is unlined. It has a wide upper silhouette that tapers slightly to the bottom.
Label: Courreges Paris Made in France. Andre Courreges is a legendary Parisian fashion designer, known for his avant garde “space age” design during the 1960s, and his innovative, “fresh” looking designs through the 70s into the 80s.
Color: Blue
Material: Difficult to read the content label, but I believe that it reads 80% Wool / 20% Nylon with Polyester/cotton blended banding
Sizing: Size B is indicated, which is a Courreges size code - please note the following measurements for fit, allowing for the style of the garment (your body measurements should be smaller, or measure a similar garment that you own) and the thickness of the wool:
Neck: 19 1/2” around
Sleeves: 27” long from the neck
Sleeve inseam: 16 1/2”
Bust: 48” around
Waist: 48” around
Hips: 47”
Bottom: 44” around
Length: 46” long, measured flat
Condition: It is in very good condition with no pronounced wear, tear, stains or odors, but it would benefit from a dry cleaning as it has not been cleaned.
This is a very nice Courreges coat - avant-garde styling, kind of space agey.....
