This is a vintage 1970s era unused, new old stock (NOS) dressing gown/lounging robe featuring a woven Chinese/Asian design in multiple colours of red, yellow/goldenrod, lilac, black, light blue, medium blue and lavender against a peacock blue coloured background. The pattern consists of pagodas, Chinese flora and peasants with carts. It has padded shoulders, stitched rounded notched lapels and closes with a matching sash belt. The cuffs are also stitched and there is a patch pocket at either side, each with a stitched opening. It closes with an internal tie and with two “frog” closures. The robe is lined in a striped blue rayon fabric. This robe came from a Chinese gift shop that was in business from the 1950s through until the late 80s.
