Vintage 1970s Mens Burberry Prorsum Commuter Rain Coat Sz L

This is a wonderful vintage mens Burberry raincoat made in England under the Burberrys Prorsum label.  I believe that this model of mens Burberry raincoat was referred to as the “Commuter”.  This mens Burberry coat is a wonderful mix of simplicity and functionality - raglan sleeves, button-down slant pocket at either side, half-belts at the cuffs, kick pleat at the back and hidden buttons down the front.  There is a buttonhole on the left collar and a button under the right collar so that you can fasten the collar up around the neck for extra protection.  The coat is lined in Burberry’s classic check pattern. 

Age: early 1970s, maybe late 60s

Material: 67% Polyester /33% Cotton. 

Sizing: There is no size label on this mens Burberry, but it appears to be a large size, probably a men’s US size 42/44 - please rely on the following measurements for fit:

Sleeves:  35” long from the mid-neck seam to the cuff

Sleeve Inseam:  18 1/2”

Chest: 46” around

Waist: 47” around 

Length: 43 1/2” measured flat from the back collar seam to the hemline

Condition: This mens Burberry raincoat is in very good condition with the exception of a missing button to the left pocket and that same pocket is a little unstitched at the top, but a seamstress or tailor can easily fix that.  The content label has a bit of wear to it.  There is also some fraying at the sleeve edges.  One very small black mark on the left front side measuring an 1/8 of an inch approximately 5 1/2 inches from the hemline.Otherwise, the coat has no other pronounced wear, tear, staining, soiling or odour.  

This is classic mens Burberry .....always in style.....great vintage piece looking for a new life!
