Vintage 50s Crombie Wool Coat Mens Overcoat Tan Brown Size M

This is a vintage 1950s mens overcoat featuring wool loomed by JJ Crombie of Aberdeen, Scotland.  This mens overcoat is made of very attractive tan brown wool, not a colour often seen in mens coats.  It has high set notched lapels and does up with three buttons at the front.  There is a large flapped patch pocket at either side.  The shoulders are squared and padded and the sleeves have turned half cuffs.  It has a 16” kick pleat at the back and this mens overcoat is half lined in a bronze satin fabric.

Union label:  ACWA - Amalgamated Clothing Workers of America that was in use between 1949 and 1962 - note the absence of the ® symbol in the margin. 

Sizing: No size is indicated on this mens overcoat, but it should fit a size 40-42 - please rely on the following measurements for fit, either comparing them to another coat that you may own or your body measurements, allowing at least 1” less for fit (4” at the chest) or more should you wish to wear a suit jacket underneath:

Shoulders: 19” across seam-to-seam

Sleeves: 24 3/4” long

Sleeve Inseam: 15” long

Chest: 46” around, taken under the arms

Waist: 46” around

Overall length: 43” measured flat at the back from the neck seam to the hemline

Condition: This mens overcoat is in very good condition with no pronounced wear, tear, staining or odors, looks like it saw little use and was well stored over the years.
