Vintage Ceramic Pincushion & Thread Holder Figural Lady Figurine

This is a wonderful vintage pincushion and thread holder made in the form of a lady. The piece is made of ceramic in a naive, whimsical style. The ladys head is decorated with a ring of flowers and a bow and the cushion is surrounded by a heart form. There is a rod and knob at the top of her head - I assume that this is a thimble holder. She is unmarked, so Im unsure of her origin, but might be Italian, although Im really not sure. She measures 4 3/4 in height, exclusive of the top rod and knob, and weighs 8 oz. It is in very good condition with the exception of a chip to the side of the left hand side knob at the top of the thread holder, but this doesnt detract much from the piece. This is a wonderful, whimsical piece - great addition to a vintage sewing collection.
