Vintage Chinese Silk Robe Hand Embroidered Floral Motifs

This is a gorgeous vintage Chinese silk robe.  This vintage Chinese silk robe features hand embroidered floral motifs in tones of red, pink, green, blue, purple, violet and brown against a gold toned yellow background - the sleeve cuffs, neckline trim and bottom open edges are white.  It closes with five black frogs with buttons and cloth loops.  It is lined in a similarly coloured fine silk.

Age:  Difficult to say for sure, but this vintage Chinese silk robe came from the estate of a couple who travelled to China during the 1950s and 60s, so it is at least that old, but may have been old when purchased.

Sizing:  There is, of course, no size label, and although this should fit a range of medium sizes, please rely on the following measurements for fit, taking the style of the garment into account:

Neck:  14 1/2” - 15”

Shoulders and sleeves: 49” across the top

Sleeve Inseam: 14”

Bust: 42” around

Waist: 45” around

Overall Length: 42”, taken at the back from the top of the neck to the hemline

Condition: This robe is in very good condition...not perfect as there is some fraying on the cuffs.  The right cuff has more of this.  The left cuff has a bit of fraying and some light brown stains.   The robe had been in storage for many years.  The color is most like the first few photos, in the close ups the coloring appears much lighter than it actually is.

This is a beautiful vintage Chinese silk robe that would make a lovely wall display - large amount of hand work on this robe!
