This is a CP Air airline pilot uniform jacket that belonged to the a gentleman who held the rank of Captain. Canadian Pacific Air Lines operated from 1942 until 1987, but operated under the name CP Air from 1968 until 1986. I know that this jacket dates to between 1984 and 1986 because I had this gentleman’s Nordair uniform jacket where he was a First Officer, which was dated 1983. There are four gold stripes on either sleeve cuff and a gold toned pilot’s badge affixed to the chest as well as gold toned CP logo buttons.
Sizing: Size 44 regular is indicated, but please note the following measurements for fit, taken from the exterior of the piece:
Shoulders: 20 1/2” across from shoulder seam to shoulder seam
Sleeves: 24 3/4” long
Sleeve Inseam: 16 3/4” long
Chest: 46” around, taken under the arms
Waist: 42” around
Overall length: 32" measured laying flat
Condition: It is in very good condition with no wear, tear, pulls, stains or odors - this jacket looks like it saw little use and was well cared for over the years. The badge does have some scratching to it - please view the close-up photo, and one of the nut screws is missing, so the badge is half affixed, but it should be very easy to find a replacement nut.
This is a rare airline pilot uniform jacket - great addition to a collection!
