This is a gorgeous pair of Dolce Vita era shoes made by Enzo Albanese, a Rome based shoe designer. Albanese was the inventor of the stiletto heel, and responsible for many innovative shoe designs. Amongst his designs are a series of animal form shoes (mice, tigers, elephants etc.), slanted stiletto shoes, the compass heel as well as many others. This pair of evening shoes is made in a sandal style with rhinestone studded straps featuring bow and oval forms that follow the top of the foot. They have silver leather ankle straps and heels. The soles are stamped as a European size 37, which should be equivalent to a US 6 1/2. Unfortunately, the rhinestone extension at the front of the left shoe is missing - please compare it to the right shoe. The soles are displaying some wear and there are a few minor scratches to the silver leather, but otherwise, these are in very good condition. Someone should be able to either add a piece to the left shoe or simply remove the piece from the right shoe - really, though, these should simply be retained as they are, excellent examples of Albanese shoe design.
Albanese shoes are in the collections of the most important international museums, so these are must-haves for the shoe collector!
