Vintage G&G Glauber Overcoat Hasidic Winter Coat US Size 50X

This is a pre-owned overcoat sold by the Glauber Bros. (G&G) of Brooklyn.  The Glauber Bros serve the Jewish Hasidic community and are known for the superior quality of their garments.  This overcoat is made in a simple classic style with padded shoulders, high set medium width lapels and hidden button front.  There is a coat at either side and the coat is lined in a black satin polyester fabric.  The fabric has a beautiful finish - very soft.   There is, however, some question as to fibre content as one label reads “Fine Cashmere” and the content label reads “100% Wool”.  This feels like cashmere to me, but I can’t say with certainty, so I will simply say that it is a very nice quality fabric.

Sizing: As mentioned, this reads size 50X, but please rely on the following measurements for fit:

Shoulders:  22” across shoulder/sleeve seams

Sleeves:  28 1/2” from the shoulder seam

Sleeve Inseam:  18 1/2”

Chest: 54” around, taken under the arms 

Waist: 52” around

Length: 56”, measured flat at the back from the neck seam

Condition:  This overcoat is in excellent condition with no pronounced wear, tear, stains or odour - really, I don’t think that this coat saw much use.  

This is a nice quality overcoat - wonderful if it fits!
