This is a vintage cable pattern sweater made in Austria under the Geiger Tyrol label. The sweater is made in a cardigan style that closes with seven metal buttons down the front. It has the metal Geiger plaque affixed to the bottom left front. It has a “flap” that runs vertically up and down either shoulder.
Age: difficult to say for sure, but I believe that it dates to the 1980s
Label: Geiger Tyrol Austria
Color: Deep red - towards a reddish brownish tone - like a deep brick reddish coloring.
Material: 63% New Wool / 37% Nylon
Sizing: Size 42 is indicated, which is a European size equivalent to a US size 14, so this should fit a large size - please rely on the following measurements for fit taking the thickness of the wool into account:
Shoulders: 18” across the flaps
Sleeves: 24” from the flap
Chest: 50” around
Bottom: 30” around, unstretched
Length: 22”
Condition: It is in very good condition with no pronounced wear, tear, odors or stains. This sweater looks to have seen little use and was well cared for.
This is a very nice quality sweater that should last a long time with proper care - very pretty color!
